🐾 25 Breeds ✦ 5 ISB Product Lines 💧 Full Routines ⚗️ Special Treatments 📅 Frequency Advice
WHY CONDITION?
Conditioning is a crucial part of bathing for every dog, regardless of breed or coat type. Shampoo — no matter how gentle — is designed to strip the coat and skin of dirt, grime, and the natural oils that protect them. Replacing that protection after every bath is an absolute necessity, not an optional step. The conditioners recommended in each breed guide below are chosen specifically for that breed's coat type and skin sensitivity.
💧
Dilution & Application: For best results, dilute all ISB shampoos and conditioners 1 part product to 3 parts water. Apply to the coat and allow to sit on the dog for a full 5 minutes before rinsing thoroughly.
🐕
Large Breed
Akita
Double coat Thick & plush Heavy shedder Spitz type

The Akita is a large, medium-coated spitz breed with a thick double coat that sheds heavily, especially seasonally. Their dense outer coat and soft undercoat require products rich in nutrients and minerals that nourish the skin beneath while preserving the natural texture. With the right ISB routine you will experience less shedding, easier brush-outs, and a coat that shines.

Bathing Instructions

1Pre-brush thoroughly — Remove loose undercoat with a slicker brush and undercoat rake before any water. This dramatically reduces drying time and product usage.

2Wet thoroughly — Akita coats are thick and water-resistant. Spend 3–4 minutes saturating down to the skin with warm water.

3Apply Traditional Banana Shampoo — At 3:1 dilution using a rubber massage mitt to work deep into the double coat. Leave on 5 minutes. Double shampoo recommended for very dense coats.

4Apply Traditional Banana Conditioner — Throughout the coat; comb through with a wide-tooth comb before rinsing after 5 minutes.

5Rinse completely — Residue in a thick double coat causes skin irritation. Take extra time under the belly and behind the legs.

6High-velocity dry first — To blast out loose undercoat, then finish with a slicker brush and dryer until completely dry.

🔬 Special Treatment: For Akitas during their twice-yearly blow-out, add 2–3 drops of Sil Plus into the Banana Shampoo. It dramatically loosens the shedding undercoat and reduces bath time significantly.
Looking to add a beautiful shine to your Akita's coat or get that extra bit of deshedding? Try these additional products!
Orange PEK ConditionerAdd this in with your conditioner to get that extra slip and remove excess undercoat. For even better results and that luxury experience, pair this with our Close–Open–Close technique! You can also mix with water to create a great hydrating spray for between baths.
Sil PlusAdd a couple drops into your shampoo and extra undercoat will slide right out. When finished drying, rub a drop through your hands and apply to your Akita's coat for extra shine and to seal in all those bath nutrients.
Black Passion Argan OilA few drops go a long way in polishing your Akita's coat with this nourishing argan oil. It will hydrate the coat and nourish the skin. Pair with a good brushing with a boar bristle brush and you won't believe the shine!
📅 Every 6–8 weeks. Akitas are very clean, low-odour dogs. Over-bathing disrupts the coat's natural oils. Increase bathing to every 3–4 weeks during heavy seasonal shedding.
🐕
Short-Coated
Beagle
Short & dense Hound odour Floppy ears

The Beagle is a short-coated hound breed. Short-coated dogs need products focused on skin health and odour management rather than detangling. The Beagle's characteristic hound scent is produced by active sebaceous glands — these ISB products address that at the source while keeping the dense short coat clean and healthy.

Bathing Instructions

1Inspect and clean ears first — Beagles' floppy ears trap moisture and bacteria; never skip this step.

2Focus wetting on neck and back — Hound scent glands are most active here; ensure full saturation.

3Wet thoroughly — With lukewarm water, top to bottom.

4Apply Traditional Lemon Shampoo — At 3:1 dilution; let sit 5 minutes for maximum odour-elimination contact time on hound coats.

5Apply Traditional Lemon Conditioner — Distribute through the coat; leave 3 minutes then rinse thoroughly under belly and between legs.

6Dry ear canals gently — With a soft cloth — moisture in Beagle ears causes chronic infections without exception.

🔬 Special Treatment: For persistent hound odour, add 3–4 drops of Atami Ozonised Olive Oil into the shampoo lather. Its antibacterial properties penetrate the skin to neutralise odour at the source, not just mask it.

Bathing Instructions

1Brush and demat on dry coat — Always before wetting. Water permanently locks in existing tangles on doodle coats.

2Check matting hotspots — Armpits, behind ears, collar line, and groin before introducing any water.

3Wet thoroughly — With lukewarm water — the Cavapoo's denser waves resist saturation. Spend 2–3 minutes wetting down to the skin.

4Apply Traditional Green Apple Shampoo — At 3:1 dilution. Work gently from roots outward to protect the wave pattern. Leave on 5 minutes.

5Apply Traditional Green Apple Conditioner — Generously throughout. Use a wide-tooth comb to distribute through every wave. Leave 5 minutes, then rinse thoroughly.

6Towel blot — never rub — Rubbing immediately creates matting on a wet doodle coat. Blot firmly, then wrap for 2 minutes.

7Blow-dry while brushing — Section by section on low heat. Mist H270 on each section before brushing for effortless detangling.

🔬 Special Treatment: For recurring mats or coat damage, add 2–3 drops of Atami Ginkgo Oil into the shampoo lather once a month. It improves capillary circulation and scalp health, reducing the rate of matting over time.
Looking to boost curl definition, shine, and mat resistance in your Cavapoo's coat? Try these additional products!
Orange PEK ConditionerMix into the Green Apple Conditioner to reinforce the wave structure and prevent breakage at curl junctions. Diluted with water, it makes an excellent daily mat-prevention spray.
H270 SprayThe most important product for any Cavapoo owner. Jojoba oil, Avocado oil, and Bamboo extracts penetrate the dense wave coat to detangle, add volume and shine, and dramatically reduce brushing time. Mist before every brush-out and use as a scissoring spray during trims.
Black Passion Argan OilA few drops worked through the finished dry coat gives Cavapoo waves an exceptional soft, polished finish. Hydrates each strand and helps the coat resist humidity-driven frizz.
📅 Every 3–4 weeks. Brush every 2–3 days between baths using H270 Spray as a detangling aid. Never skip conditioning.

⚠️ Recommendation depends on your Lab's coat thickness

Bathing Instructions

1Rubber brush the coat — Before bathing to lift shed hairs — Labrador short hairs embed in fabric and upholstery.

2Wet coat fully — Short-haired Labs are quicker to wet but the skin underneath needs thorough coverage.

3Apply Traditional Lemon Shampoo (short) or Banana Shampoo (medium) — At 3:1; focus on back and otter tail base. Leave 5 minutes.

4Apply matching Conditioner — Lemon Conditioner (short coat) or Banana Conditioner (medium coat); rinse thoroughly.

5Check the underside — The belly area where residue hides on short-coated dogs.

6Towel dry well — Short double coats dry quickly; a chamois cloth brings out natural gloss.

🔬 Special Treatment: For Labs with excess sebum or characteristic 'wet dog' odour, add 3–4 drops of Atami Ginkgo Oil into the shampoo. Its sebum-regulating properties reset the scalp and significantly reduce odour between baths.
Looking to add a beautiful shine to your Lab's coat or get that extra bit of deshedding? Try these additional products!
Orange PEK ConditionerAdd this in with your conditioner to get that extra slip and remove excess undercoat. For even better results pair with our Close–Open–Close technique!
Sil PlusAdd a couple drops into your shampoo and extra undercoat will slide right out. When finished drying, rub a drop through your hands and apply to your Lab's coat for extra shine and to seal in all those bath nutrients.
Black Passion Argan OilA few drops go a long way in polishing your Lab's coat with this nourishing argan oil. It will hydrate the coat and nourish the skin. Pair with a good brushing with a boar bristle brush and you won't believe the shine!

Bathing Instructions

1Detangle completely — On dry coat — water locks in any knot permanently on fine Maltese silk.

2Soak coat fully — With lukewarm water from neck to tail; Maltese silk resists saturation.

3Apply Traditional Green Apple Shampoo — At 3:1 dilution. Massage gently following hair growth. Leave 5 minutes.

4Apply Traditional Green Apple Conditioner — From mid-length to ends; leave 5 full minutes; rinse with cool water.

5Rinse twice thoroughly — Any residue causes yellowing and coat dullness on white coats.

6Mist H270 spray — On towel-buffered coat before blow-drying on low heat with a pin brush.

🔬 Special Treatment: For show preparation, begin the Caviar Green routine 45 days before the event, repeating at least 3 full sessions with all Caviar Line products for peak ring-ready results.

Bathing Instructions

1Detangle completely on dry coat — Maltipoo silk mats invisibly when dry. Never wet a tangled Maltipoo coat.

2Check behind ears and underarms — The silkiest areas mat fastest. Work these out gently before bathing.

3Wet with lukewarm water — Fine Maltipoo coats saturate faster than Cavapoo. Keep water temperature mild.

4Apply Traditional Green Apple Shampoo — At 3:1 dilution. Use gentle squeeze motions — no vigorous scrubbing on this delicate coat. Leave on 5 minutes.

5Apply Traditional Green Apple Conditioner — From mid-length to ends. Work through with a wide-tooth comb while it sits for 5 full minutes.

6Rinse with cool water — Cool water closes the cuticle on fine strands, producing noticeably more shine.

7Towel blot — never rub — Fine Maltipoo hair breaks easily when wet and rubbed. Blot gently, wrap for 2–3 minutes.

8Blow-dry on lowest heat setting — While brushing section by section. Mist Caviar 10-in-1 to protect fine strands from heat damage.

🔬 Special Treatment: For Maltipoos with dry, brittle, or breaking coat, apply Caviar Nutritive Serum to towel-dried hair before blow-drying.

Bathing Instructions

1Pre-brush thoroughly — Brush the double coat fully before wetting to remove loose undercoat and prevent post-bath matting.

2Wet thoroughly — Pomeranian double coats resist water — spend 2–3 minutes ensuring full saturation to the skin.

3Apply Traditional Banana Shampoo — At 3:1 dilution; massage deep into the undercoat with fingertips. Leave on 5 minutes.

4Apply Traditional Banana Conditioner — Throughout; comb through with a wide-tooth comb before rinsing after 5 minutes.

5Rinse completely — Take extra time to clear product from the dense undercoat — residue causes itching and breakage.

6High-velocity dry first — To separate and volumize the coat, then finish with a slicker brush and dryer for the classic fluffy Pom silhouette.

🔬 Special Treatment: For show preparation or maximum coat volume, use Caviar Green Shampoo in place of Banana for 3 consecutive baths before the event. The Omega-rich formula boosts coat volume and enhances the characteristic stand-off texture.

2Wet very thoroughly — Samoyed coats are notoriously water-resistant. Spend 4–5 minutes saturating to the skin with warm water.

3Apply Traditional Banana Shampoo — At 3:1 dilution with a rubber mitt to reach the skin through the dense coat. Double shampoo essential. Leave on 5 minutes.

Bathing Instructions

1Brush out on dry coat — Use a slicker brush and metal comb to remove loose undercoat before bathing.

2Use cool to lukewarm water — Shiba Inus are like Huskies in that they don't need very warm water — cool water preserves the coat's natural oils.

3Apply Traditional Banana Shampoo — At 4:1 dilution — Shiba coats are semi self-cleaning and don't require heavy product. Leave on 5 minutes.

4Apply Traditional Banana Conditioner — Sparingly on the undercoat only; do not apply to the harsh outer coat as it will flatten the protective texture.

5Rinse very thoroughly — The compact double coat traps residue easily — rinse twice to ensure a clean result.

6High-velocity dry completely — Shiba Inus must be fully dry to prevent skin issues under the dense undercoat.

🔬 Special Treatment: During the Shiba Inu's intense twice-yearly blow-out, add Sil Plus to the shampoo to dramatically loosen the shedding undercoat. Follow with a high-velocity dryer session to remove the remaining loose coat before the final brush-out.

3Apply Traditional Banana Shampoo — At 5:1 dilution — Husky coats are semi self-cleaning; heavy product disrupts the coat's natural function. Leave 5 minutes.

4No conditioner on outer coat — It flattens the protective guard hairs. Traditional Banana Conditioner can be applied sparingly to the undercoat only if dry.

5Rinse very thoroughly — The thick double coat traps shampoo residue more than any other coat type.

6Completely dry with HV dryer — Huskies must be 100% dry to prevent hot spots forming under the dense undercoat.
