Most dog harnesses compromise in one of two ways: they are functional but visually generic, or they look considered but fit poorly. A harness that puts pressure on the neck or shoulders causes long-term discomfort and can contribute to tracheal damage and restricted movement — particularly in small breeds where the anatomical margins are narrower.

The Drew's Dogwear Chocolate Harness is designed around a specific fit principle: no contact with the neck or shoulders. The straps distribute pressure across the chest and thorax, leaving the neck and shoulder joints completely free during walks. Five adjustment points allow the harness to be fitted precisely to the dog's body shape — not just approximate sizing — which matters most for breeds with non-standard proportions like Cavapoos, Dachshunds, and small Poodle crosses.

The polyester and cotton blend sits softly against the coat without the friction or tangling associated with nylon. The cast solid brass hardware maintains its gold finish through years of daily weather exposure. The dark chocolate brown colourway coordinates directly with the Chocolate Dog Collar from Drew's Dogwear for owners who want a complete walking set.

What it offers:

✔ No neck or shoulder contact — chest and thorax fit distributes pressure away from sensitive anatomical areas; particularly important for small and toy breeds
✔ Adjustable at 5 points — allows precise fitting regardless of breed proportions
✔ Polyester and cotton blend — does not tangle into fine or curly coats; softer against sensitive skin than nylon
✔ Cast solid brass hardware — weather-resistant gold finish that does not tarnish or flake with daily use
✔ Lightweight plastic buckle — easy to fasten and release without adding weight
✔ Deep chocolate brown colourway — coordinates with the Chocolate Dog Collar from Drew's Dogwear
✔ Handmade Danish Design

Why We Selected It

Harness fit matters more than harness aesthetics — but there is no reason it cannot deliver both. The Drew's Dogwear Chocolate Harness is one of the few harnesses at this price point that addresses the neck and shoulder contact problem specifically, rather than simply marketing as "comfortable." Five adjustment points is meaningful for breeds with proportionally different body shapes — the Cavapoos, Toy Poodles, and Dachshunds common among SPLOOT's customer base benefit from this level of fit precision far more than from a standard two-point adjustable alternative. The polyester and cotton construction is the right material for the coat types these breeds have. The Chocolate colourway completes the Drew's Dogwear walking set when paired with the Chocolate collar.

A note on the PRO version: Drew's Dogwear also produces a Chocolate Harness PRO at a higher price point, which includes additional structural features for dogs that require a more supportive or active-use harness. If your dog pulls strongly or you need a harness for more demanding outdoor use, the PRO may be the better choice — both are available at SPLOOT.

Suitable For

Dogs of all breeds from XS through L. Particularly well suited to Cavapoos, Cockapoos, Toy and Miniature Poodles, Bichon Frisés, Miniature Dachshunds, and small Labradoodles. Use the size guide provided on the product page — measure at both chest circumference (A) and body length (B) for the most accurate fit. If your dog sits between sizes, choose the larger.

Size Guide

Size Measurement A (chest) Measurement B (body length) Width Typical breeds
XS 24–32 cm 30–40 cm 1.5 cm Chihuahua, Pomeranian, Yorkshire Terrier
S 28–39 cm 38–55 cm 1.5 cm Coton de Tuléar, Shih Tzu, Boston Terrier, Maltese
M 38–58 cm 49–73 cm 2 cm Cockapoo, Beagle, Pug, Corgi, French Bulldog
L 44–69 cm 60–96 cm 2 cm Husky, Dalmatian, Golden Retriever, German Shepherd

How to measure:
Measurement A = chest circumference, taken just behind the front legs.
Measurement B = body length, taken from the base of the neck to the base of the tail.

Take both measurements before selecting a size. If your dog sits between sizes on either measurement, choose the larger. One finger should sit comfortably between the harness and the dog's body at any adjustment point once fitted.
