Frequently Asked Questions
What is included in the Full Ultrasonic Dental Cleaning?
Our 30-minute session focuses on visible tooth surfaces, including the front teeth, sides and accessible molars. It includes ultrasonic cleaning with pet-safe dental products, a gentle plaque wipe-down with gauze and a finishing breath spritz.
Is this treatment suitable for every dog?
No. This service is intended for dogs with mild visible dental build-up who can comfortably tolerate handling around the mouth. Dogs with heavy tartar, red or bleeding gums, loose teeth, mouth pain or suspected dental disease should be examined by a veterinarian before any cosmetic dental cleaning.
How many dental cleaning sessions will my dog need?
It depends on how much tartar has built up. During the first 30-minute session, we focus on the front and side teeth. If your dog has heavier build-up, we may need a second 30-minute appointment to work on the remaining accessible areas towards the back of the mouth.
When should I book the second dental cleaning?
If your dog needs a second session, we usually recommend booking it about one week after the first appointment. This allows us to continue working gradually, depending on your dog's comfort and the amount of visible build-up remaining.
What happens after the tartar has been removed?
Once the visible build-up has been addressed, we recommend regular maintenance to help keep your dog's teeth cleaner. A 15-minute Mini Dental appointment once a month may be suitable as part of your dog's ongoing care routine, alongside daily home dental care.
