Frequently Asked Questions
Why is my dog scooting?
Scooting is most often a sign of full or irritated anal glands. They normally empty when a firm stool passes, but soft stools, weight or narrow ducts can stop them emptying. Glandex adds fibre to firm the stool and support natural emptying. Ongoing scooting, swelling, blood or pain needs a vet check.
Can Glandex replace anal gland expression?
Glandex supports the glands’ natural emptying from the inside, which can reduce how often manual expression is needed. It does not empty glands that are already impacted, infected or swollen. Those need a vet to examine and treat them. Used daily, Glandex works best as prevention, alongside regular grooming and a healthy weight.
Is Glandex suitable for dogs with a peanut allergy?
No. Glandex Soft Chews contain dehydrated peanuts and peanuts, so dogs with a known peanut allergy should not have them. For other dogs, introduce the chew gradually over a few days. Contact your vet if you notice itching, vomiting or loose stools after starting a new supplement.
Where can I buy Glandex in Denmark?
SPLOOT stocks Glandex Soft Chews (120 pcs) online at sploot.dk and in our grooming salon and shop at Irma Pedersens Gade 68, Aarhus. If your dog scoots or licks its rear often, mention it at your next grooming appointment and we can advise.
